02 DIY GUIDE / DUBAI
Layer light, not glare
Pair a soft sheer with a room-darkening blind or curtain so daylight stays useful without turning the room into a bright reflective box.
START STEP 01↓
01 WHY THIS MATTERS IN DUBAI
Start with
the real condition.
Strong sun and glass façades can create glare, faded finishes and uncomfortable hot zones near windows.
Useful daylight during the day, better privacy after dark and fewer harsh reflections on screens, stone and glossy surfaces.
02 WHAT GOOD LOOKS LIKE
Three details
to notice.

03 STEP-BY-STEP
Do one thing.
Check it. Continue.
Each completion check tells you when to move forward. If the check fails, adjust that step before adding another decision.
- 01
Map the difficult hours
Note when direct sun reaches the glass and when glare appears on the television, desk or worktop. Check morning and afternoon separately.
- 02
Test the sheer at midday
Tape a large sheer sample against the glass during the brightest period. Look for diffusion without losing all daylight or the exterior view.
- 03
Add a separate dense layer
Choose a room-darkening curtain or blind for peak sun, evening privacy and bedrooms. Keep it independent from the sheer so each layer has one job.
- 04
Check colour in real light
View every sample against the window and from inside the room. Dubai daylight can make cool greys look blue and cream fabrics look yellow.
- 05
Plan a safe fixing point
Confirm the curtain track, blind pocket and wall condition before ordering. Use an approved installer for drilling, powered blinds or concealed fixings.
04 SAFETY BOUNDARY
Stop before
specialist work.
Window film, replacement glass and exterior shading can affect the building envelope and tower appearance. Obtain building-management approval and use a specialist.
